The Franklin Innovation Challenge, a contest for F&M students with innovative ideas, is preparing for its second annual competition.

This past summer the College partnered with the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP).

Laurence Shadek ’72 and the Shadek Family Foundation will donate $5 million to the College to help build a new multi-purpose stadium that will be located on the north end of campus.

The College’s search for a new vice president of communications is over. Cass Cliatt, director of news and editorial communications at Princeton University, will start her new role at F&M Jan. 3.

A first-year student of the New College House was diagnosed with neisseria meningitides, more commonly known as bacterial meningitis, Friday, Oct. 28.

The annual Staying Safe Report for 2010 was released to the College community in October.

After recent events threatening student safety, the administration, in conjunction with the Department of Public Safety, hosted an open forum Wednesday to discuss these serious events with the community. 

As if anyone needed more proof that the Occupy movement was making its impact felt in all corners of the country, the widespread protest that began as Occupy Wall St. has come to Lancaster and many other small cities like it.

Diplomatic Congress underwent a restructuring at the beginning of the year and is already making changes on campus.

Dan Porterfield, president of the College, introduced the concept of “idea groups,” to the campus community at his Common Hour Sept. 1.  Now, after much preparation during the first half of the semester, the time has come for these groups to form.
